Professor Shen Qirong was born in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province in August 1957. He has been engaged in the theoretical and technical research of organic fertilizer, bio-organic fertilizer, soil microorganism and plant nitrogen nutrition for a long time. As a doctoral supervisor, he has guided 70 doctoral students and 50 master students. He has been engaged in the research of famous professors; national moral advanced individuals, national outstanding scientific and technological workers, model workers and advanced workers in Jiangsu Province. Since 1988, he has worked in Nanjing Agricultural University. He served as rector and director of the university's academic council. It has won 14 national, provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, such as the second prize of national science and technology progress award, the first prize of Jiangsu science and technology progress award, China patent excellence award, and the first prize of Jiangsu patent award. Organic fertilizer and bio-organic fertilizer technology has been adopted by more than 400 enterprises, making a significant contribution to the development of China's organic fertilizer industry.
